October 4 & 18, 2023 - Our class continues to experiment with the 4 forces of flight: Thrust, Drag, Lift, and Gravity, that need to be balanced for a plane to fly efficiently. Each group built two planes to compete. One is for distance, the other is flight time. After 2 STEM periods and 30 rounds of launches, Hadiqa & Kalysta won the flight time contest at 2.81 seconds, while Aaron & Nguyen won the long distance competition with 45 feet. With the experience and knowledge gathered, we will be building balsa wood gliders next!!!
