phases of the moon

April 25, 2024 - During the Solar System Unit, the students in Room B1 showed their understanding of the different phases of the moon using Oreo cookies. As the moon makes its 30-day orbit around the earth, it reflects the light of the sun to the earth. From earth, the moon seems to change its shape depending on what time of the month it is. With the Oreos, students built the eight phases of the moon and identified where each lies in the moon cycle. The best thing was that at the end, we get to eat the moon phases! 😁
