solar Eclipse - April 8, 2024
On Monday , April 8th, 2024, all of North America experienced an eclipse of the sun. A solar eclipse occurs when the moon blocks any part of the sun. This is the first time since 2017 a solar eclipse was visible on a path across the United States. The eclipse occurred in our area at 10:15 a.m. and ended at 12:15 a.m.; nearly 35% of the sun was covered at 11:15 a.m.
Each of us had a pair of eclipse-safe viewing glasses to look at the sun directly. It was an awesome view seeing the eclipse happened right in front of our eyes. Best of all, students from other classes also came a joined us in witnessing this rare event.
It was a great experience for all of us. The next solar eclipse will be in 2044.
